Walmart also is in Litchfield, 8 Miles south. They have an RV section. It's a Super Walmart
The RV area itself is all travel and fairly level. Most of the park is pull thru. Just a few are back in. The park itself has quite a few trees but one area has no trees near the site.
1. install a high powered bathroom vent that will come on with the light timer.
There is a small dog park that is fenced in with grass.
Nice clean well run place. Level spots, great Wi-Fi, etc. Propane was very pricey though!
3. Daily cleaning of laundry room.
The grounds are very neat. Thankfully the long timers don't have junk, sheds, etc sitting around that we've seen elsewhere. There are not picnic tables for everyone and only 2 or 3 Ramadas.
Like this place and always stay when I'm passing thru this area. Never had a bad experience.
Quite a few restaurants in Litchfield plus there is a lake close by.
There is also an RV trailer sales company (trailers and 5th wheels) 8 miles down the road. It is a full service company and we heard they will come to the campground if you need service.
Next door is a trailer sales company --horse trailers, hauling trailers, etc. They have a very small RV supply section which is handy. They also will do simple repairs on RVs.
The grounds are clean. The entrance has trees, flowers, shrubbery. All very inviting.
There is a nice screened activity room in the center which residents can use ..perhaps the have rainy day get together--I don't know. There were some children's toys, tables and chairs, kareoke player. Outside the activity room was a barbecue grill and several benches. That area was very nice.
Interstate 55 runs close to the RV park but the noise isn't really bothersome especially if you run a fan at night.
The only grass is the area is surrounding the parking areas and in the small playground for children ---which is a really nice touch--to have a swing set for little people.
Again, I feel the unkempt bath house and laundry is because the owner isn't there. Otherwise I'm sure she would have kept them as clean as her own home.
Overall a quiet and clean RV park. Whoever said there were wild drunken parties... must be a wrong review! Everyone in park..owner and her trusted helpers were friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
Disappointed to see rates increase by 25%. We've stayed here before and facilities were clean and owner is friendly and accommodating. The park is about 50-75% long term residents -- I think pipeline employees. Since they are receiving a discounted monthly rate, maybe owner felt she needed to raise nightly rate to make up for loss income.
2. Daily scrubbing of showers and toilets with waste baskets emptied.
Having never been to the area, we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived after 7pm and had called ahead to let the park know but was assured that it would not be a problem. We were greeted by Cindy who checked us in and led us to our site and also invited to their weekly pot luck get together. Everybody was so friendly. I would highly recommend this park if you're in the area. The facilities looked updated and newer...well kept and clean. Very convenient location off I55. Top notch in my book.
There is 30-50 amp electric, water and sewer. Plus they sell propane evidenced by a big tank as you drive in.
My suggestions:
I used the laundry once and the laundry in town is much cleaner. The laundry room needs its folding counter wiped down daily and floor rugs cleaned and floors mopped daily. I didn't want my clothes to accidentally drop on floor and folding counter was dirty.
There is no cable tv which is a bummer for the price of the nightly rate and our antenna could only get a few Springfield channels even though we were told we could get some St Louis channels.
The owner is very accommodating in trying to fit you in if you arrive late.
Owner left the park to check on her property in FL after hurricane Irma and left some long timers in charge. Nice to have such faith and trust in your renters. They were friendly and helpful.
I did have to take spray bleach in to clean shower floor and curtain which had mold. Waste baskets were not emptied daily in bathrooms so kind of disgusting to see. Plus if you use the bathhouse in the morning after others have showered then it's very steamy. There is no air conditioning (and the area was having a heat wave) and the bathroom vent is so completely clogged so I don't think it was even running. It definitely needs a higher powered vent and not a small household bath vent. That is a must!! The people left to help just don't have the "vested" interest in cleaning a bathroom like an owner does. Dumping blue toilet bowl cleaner in a toilet isn't really cleaning a toilet.
Very nice. Small dog place. Great people.
